History of the Todd House

The Chapman Coleman Todd house is located across the street from the Morehead House. This large two story brick building was built around 1810 and was originally used as a residence. John Harris Todd built the house. He was a grandson of Thomas Todd, a Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The house gets its name from Admiral Chapman Coleman Todd who was born in the residence and served with distinction in the United States Navy. The building was used for apartments and offices during the 1900s until purchased by members of the law firm.
